The people that say something is impossible should not interrupt the person doing the impossible.
- George Bernard Shaw
Prologue
This is my truth as I’ve known it. I don’t know the full story—and I may never know it—but I can speak from where I stand, from what I’ve lived.
What you’ll read here isn’t filtered, staged, or dressed up to please anyone else. There’s no pretending, no neat endings, no bow to tie it all together. It’s simply my life, my perspective, and the truth as I’ve seen it through my own eyes.
Some of it may be messy. Some of it may be painful to read. Some of it may even feel unfinished—because that’s real life. This is not a story of rescue but of what happens when rescue is used to excuse harm.
But it’s mine. And for the first time, I am free to tell it in my own voice—without being silenced, without being stopped. If that unsettles you, that’s not my burden to carry. This book reflects my personal experiences and perspectives, drawn from my memories, third party memories, and from medical and orher records in my possession.
